A short bio, Awards and more

Birth Name: Dunsin Oyekan (often called "The Eagle").

Date and Place of Birth: Born on November 5, 1984, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.

Early Life: He is the only son of the late Gbadebo Oyekan, a pioneer in Nigerian Pentecostal music. Dunsin began playing the guitar at age 10, encouraged by his father who wanted him to lead worship.

Musical Career: He is a virtuoso musician, songwriter, and producer. He rose to massive fame for his "Upper Room" worship sessions. His music is characterized by deep theological lyrics and high-energy spontaneous worship.

Major Successes: He is known for global anthems such as "Fragrance to Fire," "I'll Be Here," "The Anthem (What God Cannot Do Does Not Exist)," and "Yah."

Legacy: Following the passing of his wife, Adedoyin Oyekan, in 2019, his music took on a even deeper spiritual weight, often focusing on the themes of intimacy with God and the "Secret Place."

Current Residence

Base: He is primarily based in Lagos, Nigeria, and Ilorin.

Activity: As of April 2026, he remains one of the most influential worship leaders in Africa. He recently hosted his massive "The Outpouring" revival meeting in March 2026, which drew tens of thousands. He is currently on a multi-city tour across Nigeria and Ghana, with scheduled appearances in the United Kingdom later this month for the "Power in the Air" conference. He also leads the "Upper Room" weekly worship experience in Lagos.
