The idea for the song started with a refrain that Jenna had carried with her for a while – that of getting through painful moments in everyday life. She eventually completed the song, co-writing with the extraordinary songwriter and guitarist Brad Sample (Alice Cooper, Maggie Rose, Randy Houser). Torres composed “Just A Mountain” at Forty-one Fifteen Studios in Nashville, collaborating with Charlie Chamberlain, Irakli Gabriel and an incredible lineup of Nashville-based musicians and friends.
The song’s poignant accompanying video features a moving performance from the prolific songwriter-American performer Rod Picott, based in Nashville. Here, dark scenes of Rod mired in depression contrast with images of breathtaking mountaintop landscapes, evocative images of Jenna performing the song in a beautiful park, as well as angelic apparitions as she encourages him to continue.
