This edition of teens, organized from June 1 to 7, 2025 by the evangelical organization Ma Bible and I, has imposed itself as an unprecedented event in the Haitian spiritual landscape. This week of worship dedicated to adolescents marked a pragmatic and modern approach to the spiritual accompaniment of young Christians in a context where haiti/”>haiti/”>haiti/”>haiti/”>Haiti faces considerable challenges.
A complex Haitian context and urgent needs
The event took place in a particularly difficult context for Haitian youth. In 2024, sexual violence against children were multiplied by ten compared to the previous year in Haiti. In this context of growing insecurity, the teens’ initiative represents a concrete spiritual response to the needs of Haitian adolescents.
The reality of Protestantism in Haiti, which today represents between a quarter and a large third of the religious population according to estimates, offers a fertile soil for this type of initiative. According to the 2016-2017 survey of the Ministry of Public Health and the Haitian population, Protestants are in the majority, whether in women (56%) or men (45%). Historically, Haitian Protestantism has shown its capacity for adaptation and innovation in the support of communities, particularly in moments of crisis.
The event was distinguished by its hybrid format, combining online sessions from June 1 to 6 and fence in face -to -face on June 7 at the Baptiste de Damien church. This approach made it possible to reach an extended audience while maintaining the essential community dimension to the adolescent spiritual experience.
A diversified and experienced animation team
The richness of the event is largely based on the diversity and expertise of its animation team. The organization brought together a multidisciplinary team bringing together Christian artists, pastors, moderators and specialists from the youth ministry, each bringing their specific expertise.
Regine Thermy JB, organizing member and Christian artist, coordinated the event as the central figure of the organization. Ms. Robinson Joseph and Rose-Michelle Samedy brought their expertise as a speaker specializing in supporting young people. Barbara Cassamajor and Romy Laguerre, both of Christian worshipers and artists, enriched the event with their musical and spiritual experience.
The animation and moderation were provided by several competent personalities: Luxon Julien, Wonsler Samedy, Actu-Christian manager, who brought his expertise in Christian media, Pierre Gardy Fontaine, Daniel Jean Baptiste, Benito Joseph, known host of evangelical programs in Caraïbes FM, who put his mastery of radio communication at the service of the event.
The team of speakers also included David and Daniella Lindor, Ketsia Clergé, Past Roly Jean, Fleurinée Mildade Évangelique singer, Past Thomas Ferdinand, Rosena J. Orys, Adorator and Christian artist, and Aniel Son, worshiper and Christian artist. This diversity of speakers made it possible to tackle the spiritual challenges of adolescents from complementary angles and to ensure remarkable educational wealth.
News themes for young people
The event has been able to identify and treat the specific concerns of contemporary adolescence. The sessions have addressed essential themes such as “worship in spirit and in truth”, “the ministry with children and adolescents”, and “the importance of love, faith and responsibility”.
Particular attention was paid to the “challenges of Christian education in the digital age”, recognizing the impact of technologies on adolescent spirituality. The event also emphasized the contemporary challenges faced by young people: influence of social networks, cybercrime, peer pressure, digital distractions and negative influences.
The opening day of June 1 has focused on the theme “Working with children: a ministry of heart, faith and responsibility”, emphasizing the importance of sincere love, perseverance in faith and the responsibility of spiritual educators. This educational approach has valued both the training of young people and that of their guides.
An innovative educational approach
Teens 2025 was distinguished by its active methodologies, using role-playing games, biblical dramatizations and interactive activities to make education live and accessible. This participatory approach allowed adolescents to ask their questions and express their concerns, promoting an authentic dialogue between generations.
The event insisted on the need for young people to live in purity, to sanctify themselves and to strengthen their faith in the face of contemporary temptations. This spiritual requirement is accompanied by a message of hope: each adolescent can be called by God, age not being a limitation to spiritual commitment.
The importance of the family framework has also been highlighted, parents being encouraged to become models and establish an atmosphere of daily worship. This family dimension recognizes that authentic worship begins at home and extends in all adolescent’s living spaces.
Impact and fallout
The event has achieved several fundamental objectives: to enhance the role of young people in the Church and society, to equip monitors and educators for more effective support, and create a network dynamic between families, educators and adolescents.
The success of this first edition is also measured through the quality of the exchanges generated and the commitment of the participants. The use of social networks has made it possible to maintain the community link beyond official sessions, creating a permanent space for exchange and mutual support.
The positive feedback has led the organizers to already consider the renewal of the experience, with the ambition to expand participation and to diversify the themes addressed. This projection to the future testifies to the relevance of the formula adopted.
Lessons and prospects for the future
Teens 2025 has demonstrated the feasibility of a spiritual approach adapted to contemporary communication codes without compromising the depth of the message. The event has proven that adolescents are in search of spiritual authenticity and respond positively to demanding proposals when they are presented with creativity and respect.
