Kierra Sheard received the BMI Impact Award and was named Gospel Songwriter of the Year at the 2026 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards in Nashville. She shared the songwriter title with J Drew Sheard II and Kerry Douglas.
The event celebrated Sheard’s career and impact on gospel music. Tribute performances featured Darrel Walls, DOE, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard, culminating with Sheard performing her hit song “You Are” to close the ceremony.
The ceremony also named Chandler Moore’s “Lead Me On” as Gospel Song of the Year. Capitol CMG Publishing was awarded Gospel Publisher of the Year for having the highest share percentage among the top 25 performed songs.
