On March 29, 2025, the BFM Diplomat Center in Bahamas vibrated to the rhythm of the 4th edition of Caribbean Worshippers, a major gospel event which brought together more than 3,000 people inside the room and as much outside, unable to access it for lack of space. Initiated and carried by Neslin Destilhomme, this project, born from a simple group of men singing in Cappella, has now become an essential institution of the Caribbean Gospel scene. Supported by a vision of unity, worship and social impact, Caribbean Worshippers is distinguished by its gratuitousness, its openness to all the communities of the region, and its deep commitment to faith and service.

This edition was marked by the participation of renowned artists and personalities, such as Pastor Samuel Robust, Loutchina Decius, Rosena J. Osys, Joy Clerf Derisier, Frè Luckson and the children of the Zon Pa Fè Moun, Shaback, Rachelle Demosthene, Oslien Jadorte and Samuel Dumervil. More than just a concert, the event was a real spiritual and community gathering, punctuated by strong moments, significant testimonies and solidarity initiatives.

In this exclusive interview, Neslin Destilhomme returns to the genesis of the project, the organizational challenges, the unforgettable moments of this edition, the impact on the community, and the future prospects of Caribbean Worshippers. An inspiring testimony for all those who believe in the strength of faith, solidarity and commitment.

Interview with Neslin Destilhomme, organizer of the 4th edition of Caribbean Worshippers
Made by Jubau for BGospel Magazine

Neslin Destilhomme: Thanks to you. I am Neslin Destilhomme, originally from Haiti, installed in the Bahamas, married to Eurika Destilhomme and active member of the evangelical church of Bérée. My ministry is focused on worship. Caribbean Worshippers was born a few years ago from a simple vision: gathering the voices and talents of the Caribbean to worship God together. At first, it was a program bringing together groups of men singing a cappella, from different churches. Gradually, we integrated instruments, then extended the format to accommodate renowned artists. The objective has never changed: to offer a space of worship accessible to all, without financial barrier, and represent all the Caribbean diversity.

Jubau: Why did you choose the name “Caribbean Worshippers” and what is the long -term vision of this project?

Neslin Destilhomme: The name was naturally established. We wanted each edition to reflect the Caribbean in all its diversity, that no community is excluded. The long -term vision is to make Caribbean Worshippers an institution capable of federating believers in the region around worship, but also social action. We have formed a solid team, made up of passionate volunteers, to carry this mission. Today, Caribbean Worshippers is much more than an event: it is an association that works for unity, sharing and support for the most vulnerable.

Jubau: This 4th edition was particularly significant. Can you take stock of it?

Neslin Destilhomme: This edition has exceeded all our expectations. We welcomed more than 3,000 people inside the BFM Diplomat Center, and unfortunately, as much as possible, for lack of space. The presence of personalities such as consuls, pastors and ambassadors gave a particular dimension to the event. We have invested more than $ 40,000 for the organization, but thanks to the generosity of the community, including Haitian merchants and the paradise restaurants of friends who offered a buffet to more than 2,500 people, everything remained free. I would like to emphasize that all the people involved did it voluntarily, without expecting anything in return. It is a strong testimony of solidarity and faith.

Jubau: What do you think were the most striking moments of the evening?

Neslin Destilhomme: Several moments will remain engraved in my memory. First, the exceptional crowds: the room was packed, and the police had to intervene to manage the crowd outside. Despite the absence of screens for those who could not enter, many stayed until the end, simply to be close to the event. Then, the message addressed to Haitian leaders, in the presence of the ambassador, on the need to allow Haitians to return to their country, was very strong. The reception reserved for Frè Luckson and the children of the Zon Pa Fè Moun Foundation was also a moment of great emotion. Finally, the fact that 30 people accepted Jesus that evening is, for me, the greatest accomplishment.

Jubau: After the event, the tour continued with Frè Luckson and the children of the Foundation. Can you tell us more?

Neslin Destilhomme: Indeed, after the concert, Frè Luckson and the children stayed 15 additional days in the Bahamas to collect funds for their foundation. The local community was extremely generous and united, taking care of them throughout their stay. We were able to raise important funds to support their action. This experience has strengthened our conviction that Caribbean Worshippers must also be a vector of social action, not just a spiritual event.

Jubau: What were the reactions of the public and the participants?

Neslin Destilhomme: The reactions were unanimously positive. People came from Toronto, Montreal, the United States … Many have told us that they were deeply affected, not only by the quality of artistic services, but also by the atmosphere of fraternity and meditation. The testimonies received after the event encourage us to continue on this path.

Jubau: In organizational level, what do you work best work?

Neslin Destilhomme: Several factors have been decisive. First, place God at the center of everything we do. Then, the strength of the team: committed, competent and dedicated volunteers. The association operates solely on the basis of volunteering, which creates a real cohesion and a deep commitment. Finally, our vision is not limited to organizing concerts, but to carry a ministry of worship and service.

Jubau: Have you encountered difficulties or unforeseen events during this edition?

Neslin Destilhomme: The main challenge was the management of the crowd. We did not expect such a crowd and had to call on the police to guarantee security. There was also a direct cut at one point, but the technical team was able to react quickly. I would like to thank the media present, notably Konektem, Belleimage and Koze Kretyen, for their professionalism and their support.

Jubau: What have you learned from this experience, both personal and collective?

Neslin Destilhomme: This experience taught me the importance of keeping my eyes fixed on God, whatever the circumstances. On the collective level, it has strengthened our conviction that faith, solidarity and commitment can move mountains. I am also very grateful to the Haitian community, which largely funded the movements of artists and the media.

Jubau: Caribbean Worshippers is now an association. Can you tell us more about its organization and upcoming projects?

Neslin Destilhomme: The association is made up of a solid committee: Granise Jean Lor, Dianne, Chantel O'Brian, Loretta Clerizer, Renaud Jean and Wesley Pierre, alongside myself. We are already working on future projects, including a tour in June with Frè Luckson and a major event in December 2025 in Haiti, which will combine social actions (mobile clinic, donations) and moments of worship. We want Caribbean Worshippers to continue to be a bridge between communities, a meeting, sharing and transformation.

Jubau: What message do you want to send to young people, professionals and all those who wish to get involved in such initiatives?

Neslin Destilhomme: I would tell them never to underestimate the power of faith and commitment. It is possible to achieve great things, even with few means, if one is animated by a clear vision and a sincere desire to serve. I encourage them to get involved, give their time and talents, because each gesture counts. Caribbean Worshippers is open to all those who want to contribute to this mission, whatever their age or their journey.

Jubau: Brother Destilhomme, thank you for your testimony and your commitment. We wish you a lot of success for the future.

Neslin Destilhomme: Thanks to you. May God bless all those who support this work and that the Caribbean continues to unite in worship and service.
