PLATINUM SOLD WORSHIP SET
SHEKINAH GLORY MINISTRY
TEAMED UP WITH GRAMMY® WINNING DJ MAURICE JOSHUA,
ON CLUB REMIX OF “REIGN JESUS”
Shekinah Glory Ministry
As they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Chicago-based gospel music ensemble Shekinah Glory Ministry (SGM) is releasing new content (new music, a potential stage production and a documentary film) throughout 2022. The first offering teams them with Grammy®-winning house music pioneer DJ Maurice Joshua (Beyoncé, Pink, Mariah Carey) for a rousing new remix of “Reign Jesus” from the group’s debut album.
Joshua dusts off the calypso-style chant, “Reign Jesus,” from SGM’s 2001 debut album, Praise is What I Do. He transforms it into a fast-paced, easygoing dance track with an emphasis on congas, keys, and bass. SGM’s robust chorus of vocals provides a solid cushion on which veteran SGM member Sherree Lee’s smooth opening leads rest. Then, guest soloist and the husky vocals of songwriter Cedric Ford take over, extolling the Most High while urging the listener to “clap everybody, clap everybody, lift up the name of Jesus.”
Shekinah Glory Ministry 2
“Reign Jesus” is the first of several planned remixes of Shekinah Glory Ministry classics. Valley Kingdom Mother Church’s new pastor Ray Bady, a veteran session drummer for Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklinwill oversee production of Shekinah Glory Ministry’s first new album since 2012’s Surrender. They hope to release this musical project and a documentary film about Shekinah Glory Ministry’s journey and legacy in the fourth quarter of 2022.
