Canadian gospel legend,, Sharon Rileywill celebrate the black musical heritage during a special event Organized by theUniversity of Toronto THE February 8, 2025. This unique concert titled “A Celebration of Black History Through Music” Promises an emotional journey through historical spirituals and contemporary gospel.
A musical tribute to black cultural history
Artist awarded To the Juno for his album Life is (1999), Sharon Riley will unite his voice with that of Faith choral and artistic sets of the University of Toronto. On the program:
- Swing Low, Sweet Chariotclassic African-American spirituals
- Modern gospel creations signed Kirk Franklin
- A Unpublished composition mixing West African percussion and choirs
