Multi-genre singer-songwriter and successful artist Sam Tinnesz is known for developing alternative power plants such as Alley while his own voice drives hits like the 150 million+ streamed “Play with fire»And the Top 40 Dance collaboration with a pop staple streamed billions of times Kygo“Don’t give up on love. » Most recently, Tinnesz’s vocal instrument is featured on Virgin Records’ 2021 pop dance track «Fences», which he wrote and recorded with Stefy De Cicco and Wasback. The versatile artist returns today (March 5) with his most personal song to date, «I do not miss you», Available in digital and streaming outlets worldwide.
Written with Aaron Chafin (ROZES, Chaz Cardigan, Kyd The Band) and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Dua Lipa, Blackpink, Machine Gun Kelly), Tinnesz’s “I Don’t Miss You” is a new breakup song upon first listen, but like many of Tinnesz’s songs, this one has multiple meanings. Digging deeper, this thrilling track reveals a much deeper wound.
No stranger to tough times and character building, the son of an Air Force pilot, Tinnesz lost his father as a child to complications from a virus and has watched his mother’s grief take shape in real time over the years.
“I was only eight years old when my father died,” Tinnesz recalls, “and ever since then I’ve been trying to fill that void in my life to feel less incomplete. This song is my journey of dealing with the loss. It’s me accepting it and fighting through denial to face the reality of his absence.”
Now as a husband and father, Tinnesz’s experiences have inspired his musical passion and his winding journey of discovery, survival and renewed hope. He wants others to know, they are not alone.
“I hope this song brings comfort and healing to people who are going through the same thing in 2021,” Tinnesz says. “In the midst of COVID, suicide and divorce are at an all-time high right now, so it felt like the right time to release such a personal song.”
Additionally, and tragically, Tinnesz was recently able to share the hope of “I don’t miss you” with surviving members of a family who live just down the road from him and are in the same homeschool group as Tinnesz’s own children. His neighbors George, Olga and their two children were in a terrible car accident where George’s wife, Olga, and three-year-old son, Nick, were killed.
“All these feelings of loss came rushing back when my neighbor spoke about losing his wife and son,” Tinnesz laments. “It happened very recently and I played a candlelight service for the family. I was able to tell George that even though I lost my father at a young age, look how beautiful my life is. I’ve been through anxiety, tragedy and depression, and even though you have this horrible loss, you still have a future. I’m a phoenix rising from the ashes, and your life can still be beautiful too.”
With his music and vocal prowess spanning a wide sonic flair from pop to rock and country to alternative, Tinnesz’s music transcends genres and finds an ever-growing audience. His debut full-length album, White Doves + Fighter Jets (Deluxe)released last October via Warner Music Group’s ADA and has amassed over 20 million streams. The 19-track album is a sonic masterpiece of challenges and triumphs expressed, with pulsating chords, anthemic production and precisely crafted lyrics.
In fact, in less than two years, Tinnesz has seen his Spotify numbers grow from one million monthly listeners to over 2.7 million (over 223 million streams) and his subscribers grow from 22,000 to over 100,000. As of July 2019, his Youtube subscribers grew from 100,000 to 250,000. By the end of 2019, he had about 11.5 million streams on Apple Music and now has over 28 million as well as 1.3 million Shazam streams.
