Passion (sixstepsrecords / Capitol CMG) has released its first ever Christmas album,Hope has a namefeaturing Passion cult leaders Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker and Melodie Malone along with their friends Crowder and Chidima. This week, Passion performs “O Come All Ye Faithful (His Name Shall Be),” from the new holiday album for the 98th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting.
Due to the pandemic this year, the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation did not host a live audience for the 2020 National Christmas Tree Lighting. In lieu of an in-person ceremony, the National Christmas Tree Lighting event at President’s Park accompanied by holiday performances will be available to watch on-demand at www.thenationaltree.orgstarting at 5pm ET tonight throughout the holiday season.
A festive compilation of Christmas lights and music, national parks and holiday cheer, the 98th National Christmas Tree Lighting will bring joy to homes across the country. Passion joins other artists including American Idol finalist Colton Dixon; country singer/songwriter Jerrod Niemann; country artist Jillian Cardarelli; singer/songwriter Jillian Edwards; country music singer/songwriter and actress Kellie Pickler; country artist and American Idol winner Laine Hardy; country group Leaving Austin; award-winning gospel artist Lynda Randle and her brother, Michael Tait, lead singer of the Newsboys; singer/songwriter Matthew West; the National Park Service Arrowhead Jazz Band; the Tucson Arizona Boys Choir; the official choir of the U.S. Navy, The Sea Chanters; and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.
With this year bringing so much uncertainty across the world, Passion felt it was the perfect time to create a special project to help listeners express their love and devotion to God during the holiday season. Passion teamed up with other members of the worship community to co-write and produce, including Jacob Sooter, Matt Maher, Jeff Pardo, Sean Curran, Stefan Cashwell, Kirby Kaple of Housefires, and Aodhan King and Ben Fielding of Hillsong Worship. Hope Has a Name features five original songs and two classics.
