Myrdith Mélus: 10 years of ministry between triumph and Renaissance

In the universe of contemporary Haitian gospel, few journeys illustrate both the transformation by the test as that of Myrdith C. Mélus. This woman, who defines herself above all as a worshiper rather than an artist, has gone through a decade of ministry marked by remarkable successes, deep trials, and a spiritual rebirth that continues to inspire today.

The foundations of a ministry (2014-2017)

Born in Haiti and naturalized American, Myrdith C. Mélus launched his ministry in May 2014 with a clear vision: to form a new generation of worshipers anchored in the Word of God. THE We Project (Worship Experience Project) arises from this ambition, offering training in which participants learn to worship “with the Bible in hand”, in its own terms.

Its revolutionary approach for the time was to raise the standard of worship beyond simple vocal performance. “It is not only to get up to sing because we have a beautiful voice,” she explains in our recent interview, “but it is a standard to reach as an adrator, the way you have to live, to recover entirely to God”. This philosophy of “Complete Surrender” (total abandonment) becomes the cornerstone of his pedagogy.

In 2017, during his first large interview, Myrdith reveals that she had already affected 161 people through his training. Married for ten years in Depudy Rithou Mélus, mother of a daughter named Ri’anne, she juggles between her part -time ministry, her studies in human resources at Rasmussen University, and her work as an insurance agent. His discography then has three singles: “Gade Jan’W Gran”, “Sèl Mwen au Jezu”, and a Creole adaptation of Excess Love in collaboration with Rosena J. Orys.

The expansion of the ministry and the first successes (2017-2022)

The real scale of the impact of Myrdith is only revealed with hindsight. His training is deployed throughout southern Florida: Miami, Brooward, Homestead, West Palm Beach. But it is in Haiti that the project takes on an exceptional dimension, welcoming between 350 and 400 worshipers at the first Baptist church in Pétion-Ville.

The format of its events, combining training on Saturday morning and celebration on Sunday afternoon, becomes a reference. Figures like Delly Benson participate in these celebrations, helping to legitimize this innovative approach to spiritual training.

Between 2017 and 2022, his discography is gradually enriched. Streaming platforms welcome her creations, especially on Apple Music where she is among recognized Haitian artists. His collaboration with figures established as Rosena confirms her growing place in the Haitian gospel ecosystem.

The peak and the fall: Witreat 2022

The year 2022 marks both the peak and the dramatic turning point of the Ministry of Myrdith. After several years of family consolidation following the birth of her daughter, she receives what she describes as “a new mission”: organize Witreata retirement for worshipers of an unprecedented ambition.

The event brings together international figures like Rich Tolbert Jr., an influential American artist, and Sam Simon, a speaker specializing in the support of musicians and worshipers. The program, spread over three days, combines training, intensive prayer, and culminates with an overwhelming symbolic ceremony where the young generation presents ancient generation excuses for “not always listened to or honored the advice of the elders”.

This retreat represents the culmination of eight years of hard work. Myrdith managed to create a generational bridge in an often fragmented medium, offering a space of reconciliation and transmission. Success exceeds all expectations.

The desert crossing (2022-2023)

But the triumph of Witreat immediately precedes the darkest period of his life. “After this retreat, oh my God!” “, She confides during the interview,” I started to have experiences that I did not imagine before. Every day, something new and surprising happened. »»

The trials accumulate with incredible violence. The church where it served faithfully rejects it in what it describes as “a real public humiliation inflicted by the pastor”. This brutal exclusion completely upsets his spiritual and social life.

At the same time, a scandal implying a controversial video bursts. Myrdith finds himself falsely accused of having disseminated this content, an accusation that she categorically denies: “God is witness: I have never shared this video with anyone. This controversy makes him lose many followers on social networks and temporarily tarnishes his reputation.

To these public tests is added more intimate pain: the death of his spiritual mother, Sister Mireille. This loss comes at a time when she most needed support and support. “It was really a period of hard blows, unjust attacks,” she sums up, “I did not have the energy to defend myself. »»

The forge of the test and spiritual maturity

Paradoxically, this period of darkness becomes the crucible of a deep transformation. “Anpil Nan Experians his yo wine tounen leson ak èd sentespri,” she says. “Mwen Ki Kanpe Jodia Pwouvém vèsè ki di le Wap Mache nan Dufeu or Pap Brile Isaï 43: 2” (many of these experiences have become lessons with the help of the Holy Spirit … I who stand up today proves this verse which says that when you walk in fire, you will not burn, Esaïe 43: 2).

This biblical reference becomes emblematic of its resilience. The trials, far from destroying it, refine its character and deepen its understanding of the kingdom of God. She honestly recognizes the consequences of this period: “Bay Kou Bliye Pote Mak Sonje. Mak yo the won mwen tj tromatize won bondye banm fòs poum resist and avale ”(the blows are forgotten but leave scars. The marks are there, I am always traumatized, but God gives me the strength to resist and move forward).

This authenticity in vulnerability becomes a new strength of his ministry. It no longer only offers theoretical teaching on worship, but a lived testimony of divine fidelity in the ordeal.

Renaissance and new alliances (2023-2025)

Myrdith’s rebirth goes through a change in ecclesiastical environment. She is definitely leaving King Jesus Haitian Minister to join Glorious Church of God of Prophecy, where she develops two new projects: Intimacy Gathering and the continuation of We Project.

This new season is characterized by an unprecedented international opening. In January 2025, she organized an exclusive pop concert with Samuel Simon, member of the Maverick City group, one of the most influential contemporary Worship collectives in the world. This event symbolically marks its return to the public scene and its ability to attract leading collaborators.

On June 11, 2025, Myrdith released what undoubtedly constitutes the most representative work of his musical mastery. It is recognized for its recovery with high added value. Myrdith is undoubtedly one of the best Haitian gospel artists in the reproduction and adaptation of Christian musical works. Its most recent fulfillment is fully testified: ” Matye 6:33 or pap Manke Anyen (Seek First – Gap Worship Cover) ”. This Creole adaptation of the original David Oluwadara Ropotussin transcends simple translation to become a deep meditation on spiritual priorities.

The timing of this outing is not trivial. After years of trials in which she had to relearn the fundamentals of confidence in God, she delivers a message of a new depth on Matthew 6:33: “First seek the kingdom and the justice of God; And all these things will be given to you over it. »»

This song crystallizes the evolution of his ministry. She is no longer content to train worshipers; She now embodies the message she transmits. His voice brings the experience of the one who lost everything and found everything in abandonment to God.

The inheritance under construction

Today, Myrdith C. Mélus represents a unique figure in the Haitian gospel landscape. Its trajectory perfectly illustrates how the test, far from destroying an authentic ministry, can purify and deepen it.

His educational approach, centered on the integration of speech in worship, continues to influence a generation of worshipers trained according to his methods. The 161 people directly affected by its training in Florida, increased by hundreds of others in Haiti, constitute a network of influence which far exceeds its media visibility.

His ability to bounce back after 2023, illustrated by his new collaborations with international artists like Samuel Simon, testifies to an artistic and spiritual maturity acquired in the ordeal. It proves that it is possible to transform injury into strength, humiliation into humility, isolation into intimacy with God.

The evolution of Myrdith from 2017 to 2025 finally tells the story of a woman who discovered that true worship is not born in the comfort of success, but in total abandonment to God at the heart of the storm. This lesson, engraved in its flesh by the trials of 2022-2023, now nourishes a ministry of a new depth, where each sung note carries the weight of the experience and the lightness of grace.
