Multi-Platinum Band MercyMe Announces “MercyMe Live 2022” Tour
MercyMe, the multi-Platinum and award-winning band, has announced their “MercyMe Live 2022” arena tour, set for this fall. The 19-city tour will feature returning special guests Rend Collective and Andrew Ripp, kicking off on October 20 in Saginaw, Michigan, and concluding on November 20 in Norfolk, Virginia. The month-long journey will visit major markets such as New York, Baltimore, and Boston. Tickets became available on July 11 at MercyMe.org.
The New Single: “Then Christ Came”
The announcement of the tour follows the release of MercyMe’s latest single, “Then Christ Came,” a song two years in the making. Originally intended for their tenth studio album, Inhale (Exhale), the track was incomplete at the time of the album’s release. However, frontman Bart Millard revisited the lyrics with co-writers Jason Ingram and Phil Wickham to finish the song. Millard shared:
“Sometimes we over-complicate things trying to come up with new, creative ways to sing about Jesus. But the message of this song is simple — it’s about who I was before, and then Jesus showed up, and now everything has changed.”
The single debuted on radio on July 8 with early support from nearly 30 stations, including SiriusXM/The Message and others across major cities like Chicago and Orlando. Fans can listen to “Then Christ Came” across all digital platforms.
Tour Highlights
MercyMe will perform their new single alongside numerous chart-topping hits during the “MercyMe Live 2022” tour. Ahead of the fall trek, they will headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre for one night only on October 17, marking their second time at the iconic venue.
