Popular Christian rock band Love Like Gravity is sending a new single to radio today with “Grind,” which is set to air on Christian rock-formatted radio stations.
“The new single addresses the issue of materialism and how it can completely consume your life,” says Love Like Gravity lead singer Billy Pind, who co-wrote the single with bandmates Cale Kight and Stan Mayo.
“Ecclesiastes 5:10 says, ‘He who loves money is never satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with great gain.’ Don’t fall into the trap of materialism,” Pind warns. “Instead, follow Christ, for he fulfills and he will satisfy.” The story behind the song is also available on YouTube.
“Grind” is the second single from “Break The Silence,” the band’s first new music project in six years that hit digital stores and streaming services on January 7. “Break the Silence” already produced the top single, “Devil’s in the Details,” which peaked at No. 2 on Christian Music Weekly’s Rock Chart.
In addition to producing the new single, Kight produced and engineered the entire 10-song album at Big City Sound Studios in Georgia. Tony Palacios mixed the project at The Palace in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Nathan Dantzler mastered the CD at Nashville’s Hitlab.
“Break the Silence” features band members Kight on guitar and vocals, Pind on vocals, guitar and piano, and Mayo on drums, synths and programming. Palacios and Mark Siegel also contributed performances.
“Break the Silence” follows Love Like Gravity’s sophomore album “Chain Reaction.” The project, released in 2015, produced Billboard top singles (“Slave,” Top 20; “Chain Reaction,” Top 30), as well as a song, “Courage,” from WORD Film’s “Adrenaline” soundtrack.
The band’s self-titled debut album produced three radio hits, including “Stronger (top 15 on Billboard and Top 3 on Christian Music Weekly), “Dig” (#1 for six weeks on Christian Radio Weekly) and “Adrenaline.” “Adrenaline” later inspired and was featured in the film of the same name. The songs Youtube video has nearly 500,000 views.
Love Like Gravity is a band that unapologetically shouts a message of faith, hope, and love. With a heart that beats for ministry, always looking for the best balance between depth and accessibility in modern music is not easy. Yet, this band seems to have found the elements to make it work.
Musical independence and a passion for crafting the song itself has led to many successes for the band over the past decade. Love Like Gravity has played to thousands of people as a headliner while sharing tickets with industry acts such as Kutless, RED, Skillet, Decyfer Down, Disciple, and Manafest at events and festivals across the United States. Teaming up with Tony Palacios and Jim Cooper (Decyfer Down, Building 429, High Flight Society, etc.) as the band’s producers was one of the first big steps forward right from the start.
The first two albums found the band’s sweet spot, especially when it came to radio. Between the self-titled debut and “Chain Reaction,” the band saw five singles chart in the Top 30 of The Billboard Christian Rock charts. The standout single from the debut, “Stronger,” was named No. 34 on Billboard’s Top 75 Christian Rock Songs of 2012.
The post office Love Like Gravity releases new single first appeared on TCA.
