Lwazi Khuzwayo is a South African Christian/Gospel singer, songwriter, music director and vocal coach. He was born in Nkandla, a town in KwaZulu-Natal.
“Jesus I Love You” was inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has died and the new has come”. He co-wrote the song with his friend Lindokuhle Moloi. The song came about after an intense worship session at Lwazi’s church when his friend Zwe Kunene started playing a chord progression with a melody. He only saw Zwe after two months and they were both so happy to know that Zwe had not forgotten what he was playing that day and the rest is history. Lwazi has since released a music video which is featured on Trace Gospel’s Top 30 Tracks.
“Jesus I Love You” has been nominated for “Best Contemporary Song” at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards 2020. It was a huge honor for Lwazi as it is his only second single.
