Gérald Cius does not really like to be described as an “artist” in the usual sense of the term. Above all, he considers himself a servant, a brother among others, whose voice and the ministry want to be simple instruments to make glory to God. Between Haiti and Boston, it testifies to a faith rooted in hope and nourished by a life of prayer, a path where the Gospel intertes itself on music, family and community engagement.
Born in Haiti in a Catholic family, Gérald discovers very young the richness of the scriptures through the evangelical conversion of his mother. This double belonging – both marked by the Catholic tradition and the evangelical impulse – opens with him a deep look at faith. As a child and then a teenager, he receives his Catholic baptism, and very early on, the family dynamic guides him towards evangelical faith. His years of youth are marked by prayer, singing and service in the church and the community.
First steps in music (2005 – 2009)
In 2005 and 2006, Gérald Cius participated in competitions and shows on channel 5, Telemax, in Haiti. These experiences are not only artistic windows, but real learning stages, where his voice becomes above all a tool of testimony rather than a career project.
During the competition Ticketmaxit is distinguished by obtaining second place with an evangelical choir. Following this fulfillment, the choir Praise Gospel is invited to participate in the festival Mad music. At that time, there was not yet an evangelical chapter in the event, which made Gérald one of the sources of inspiration which subsequently contributed to the integration of this component. Thanks to this opening, many Gospel groups were able to share their talent and their faith on this same scene.
In 2008–2009, he joined the group Unity. This step confirms that beyond music, his true appeal is to serve God. This collective journey helps him grow, both vocal and spiritual.
Coaching and ministry in Haiti
For several years in Haiti, Gérald accompanied young people, supervises groups and choirs, and participated in various musical projects. These years forge his role as a trainer, anxious to transmit more than to shine.
Exile and implantation in Boston
With its migration to Boston, its trajectory takes on a new dimension. This passage is marked by family challenges, sacrifices and a necessary adaptation. First simple faithful within the community, it is gradually recognized as a pastor. In a mainly Haitian assembly, he built bridges between generations and cultures. Here again, singing and preaching are held together, serving families in search of hope.
Family and ministry
Born on August 9, 1985, Pastor Gérald Cius was married to Bernanda Cius and father of two children: Bernamos Gérald Cius and Yohan Eliakim Cius. His ministry is first lived at the heart of the family, in the simplicity of a life where faith, music and communion mingle naturally.
From a young age, Gérald says he often sought to flee his pastoral call, because he saw himself above all as a musician. In Haiti, he has long collaborated with theChurch on the Rocher de Delmas. But when Pastor Garry St Hubert invited him to follow a biblical training, he lost interest and moved away from this perspective. However, several voices, including Bishop Sem Célestin, continued to confirm that a call was based on his life. These words ended up transforming his gaze and his way of considering the ministry.
A decisive turning point when he crossed a serious illness. In this ordeal, he made a wish to the Lord: “If you agree to heal myself, I will engage in the ministry according to your will. »» This promise marked a deep reorientation of his life.
Since 2020, he serves as a pastor assistant to theChurch of God, refuge house, Delmas 52where he exercises his ministry with loyalty.
From 2022, Gérald Cius also launched his musical ministry with the title “Ak Jezi nou an viktwa”. In 2023, he continued with “Or vo folds pou mwen”confirming his desire to evangelize and encourage through singing.
“Mwen Kanpe”: a hymn of faith (2025)
On August 10, 2025, he published “Mwen Kanpe” In collaboration with her sister, the singer Gospel Kattiana Richelin. Co-written with Valérie Dantus and Kattiana, this work is imposed as a deep meditation and a real declaration of faith.
Sung to Haitian Creole, she proclaims that, even in the face of the storms and the opposite winds, the believer remains standing, assured of the presence of Jesus in the boat. Produced by CG Records Productionthis title goes beyond the simple musical framework: it is a sung prayer, a collective testimony and the voice of a generation in search of spiritual stability.
Pastor and witness (2025)
In Boston, Gérald exercises his pastoral ministry in parallel with his musical commitment. His preaching insist on praise as a place of healing and victory. His mission remains the same: bringing each generation closer to the presence of God.
Community and digital commitment
Gérald is very socially involved: he heads a very active team in Haiti who pursues important social work, in particular through visits to prisons, benefit concerts, musical training workshops and support for families in difficulty. By using social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok), he does not seek personal visibility, but prefers to spread encouragements and fragments of praise through his daily shares.
A prospect for the future
