Dena Mwana presents “Mon Héros”: release of the single “In Extremis”

On November 7, 2025, Dena Mwana unveiled the official music video for “Mon Héros”, taken from the single “In Extremis (Hallelujah!)”. This gospel title celebrates the theme of the savior in contemporary Christian faith.​​

Dena Mwana’s journey

Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi, born on December 27 in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, began her musical career at the age of 13 in the “Notre Dame de Grace” choir. At 18, she became director. In 2004, she founded her own group under the direction of Rigobert Mbila, professor at the National Institute of Arts in Kinshasa. In 2006, she emigrated to the United States in Virginia to perfect her art.​

Dena Mwana released her first album “Hosanna” on May 11, 2011. Her second album “Monene” was released in 2016. In 2020, she launched “Souffle”, an album of fourteen tracks with international collaborations.​

In November 2022, she unveiled the single “Une Armée” with jazz and classical sounds. December 2022 marks the release of “Lindanda (na na na)”. On March 22, 2024, she presented “Affranchis (Bana Nzamba)” featuring Glorya Reliques. The EP “2 DADDY” is released on May 3, 2024.​

Singles and releases 2025

On May 30, 2025, Dena Mwana released “Gathering the Worshipers,” a 7-minute anthem available on Apple Music and Spotify. In September 2025, she released “Mon Oreille (YHWH)” followed by “Mimonisa YHWH (my Ear part 2)”.​​

On November 7, 2025, “In Extremis (Hallelujah!)” becomes available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music. The title “My Hero” composes this single with the lyrics “My heart has found its Hero, Vigilante who pleads for us”. Cédric Akpaka Capo-Chichi of David Republic is the songwriter, while Dena Mwanakitata co-arranges. YaLey (Ley’s Wizdom) directs the video, produced by Happy People Africa LLC.​

The title brings together Naguy Amisi, Ruth Kabeya, Aurélie Kiala and Monica Neema Bitoma on backing vocals. Deric Nsimba plays drums, Scotty Tambika and Samuel Makanua play keyboards. Tresy Bananga Kalala plays guitar, Elie Mwamba plays bass, Jonathan Kalenda mixes.

Concerts and tours 2025

In July 2025, Dena Mwana is carrying out her Caribbean Tour with three verified dates. The Guadeloupe concert brings together 4000 worshipers, organized by Red Festiles Events and RIG Event. The Martinique date welcomes 2,500 people despite the rain. The tour concludes on July 19, 2025 at the Yeshua Festival in Guyana.​

On May 10, 2025, she performs at L’Olympia in Montreal at 8 p.m. On May 18, 2025, a concert took place at Union Hall. These dates are part of his first European tour of 2024 covering nine cities: Lille, Cologne, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Lyon, Paris and Brussels.​

Collaborations and ministry

Married and mother of three children, Dena Mwana also works as a driver, advisor and speaker. Her ministry has taken her to several influential churches: Center Missionnaire Philadelphia in Kinshasa, El Shaddai in Burundi, McClean Bible Church in Virginia, Impact Center Chrétien in Pointe Noire in Congo.​
