Elie Pierre, flagship figure of Haitian gospel, died at the age of 54
The world of Haitian Christian music mourns the loss of one of its emblematic figures. Elie Pierre, singer, composer and respected maestro, died on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at the age of 54, from a stroke, at the Hope Hospital of Delmas 75.
A committed and passionate artist, Elie Pierre marked the Haitian gospel scene as a leader in Zetwal and Revelasyon groups. His powerful voice and his inspiring compositions, such as “fès his or vle”, “sees himself” and “fòn kenbe pye jezi”, have touched many generations of faithful.
His departure leaves an immense void in the heart of the evangelical community. However, his musical and spiritual heritage continues to resonate, recalling the deep impact he had on faith and praise in Haiti.
