HOUSTON, TX (March 31, 2022) – – Emerging gospel recording artist Marcus Jordan makes his first appearance on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart by landing at #25 with the radio single “Call the name.” The official music video for the live performance of “Call On the Name” is expected to be released soon.
Following his debut single “I Will Bless Your Name”, Marcus simultaneously released the second single from his second studio album CALL ON THE NAME, released on June 22, via his independent label Marcus Jordan Music Group. The 9-track album debuted at #3 on the iTunes Top 200 Christian/Gospel Digital Albums chart.
As with many, 2021 brought new challenges and obstacles for the artist, songwriter and award-winning gospel producer Marcus Jordan. For nearly two weeks in January 2021, he fought for his life in the ICU due to COVID-19 and pneumonia. Even though circumstances brought uncertainty after his near-death experience, Marcus’ trust in God never wavered. Months later, his period of isolation and recovery gave birth to an open sky of newly composed songs.

Marcus Jordan launched himself onto the scene of gospel music in 2017 with his first single “You Are Here”. He followed up with his second single and his track “I Will Bless the Lord” from his debut album in January 2018. “Give God the Glory” was his next single (May 2019), which managed to reach number 1 on THENielsen BDS Internet Gospel Radio Panel Chart. Internet phenomenon Karlton Humes, better known as NotKarltonBanks, gave a comedic parody of his 2020 single “I Can” to his one million Instagram followers (@notkarltonbanks). The video generated more than 212,000 views and 33,000 likes.
