Provident Films announces that its film, “Blue Miracle,” has won the Epiphany Prize®, Movieguide®’s most inspirational film award. Commonly known as “The Oscars Christians“, the 30th annual Movieguide Awards® broadcast aired on Sunday, April 17, 2022, honoring the best family-friendly movies and TV shows from the previous year.
“I’m so encouraged that films infused with strong biblical content continue to make waves in theaters and on streaming,” says Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®.
“Blue Miracle” was selected as the Epiphany Prize® as the “Most Inspirational Film of 2021” because it clearly shows that works and superstition cannot bring miracles, only God’s loving grace can.
“For me, the main theme of the film is found in the scriptures, where it says that the true religion is that which cares for widows and orphans,” shares Trey Reynolds, producer of “Blue Miracle” and vice president of Provident Films. “It’s a kind of modern story of how God’s heart is close to the orphans and the most vulnerable in our society. It was a beautiful story of how God stepped in and turned a very bad situation into something good.
“Blue Miracle” tells the incredible true story of Casa Hogar, the home of Mexican boys who competed in the world’s greatest fishing tournament to save their orphanage. The award-winning film stars Dennis Quaid (“I Can Only Imagine,” “Soul Surfer”) and was released as a Netflix Original on May 27, 2021.
The film quickly became the second most streamed film in the world according to FlixPatrol.com, a website that provides daily VOD charts for 362 streaming platforms in 123 countries around the world. The film is available exclusively on Netflix in over 190 countries around the world and available in over 30 languages. Click on the movie poster above to watch the trailer.
