“Gospel City Playlist” Virtual Concert Series to Feature Award-Winning Gospel Singers to Raise Funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities®

(CHICAGO – September 8, 2021) – In honor of gospel music heritage Month, which takes place each September, McDonald’s is serving up inspiration with a side of friendly banter for music fans of all ages. From September 19 through October 10, the 15th annual McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration® gospel tour, a long-running event that fosters community through the deep-rooted tradition of gospel music, will take place virtually every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on BET Network’s YouTube channel and BET.com.
Presented to fans by McDonald’s Black and positively gold movement, of gospel artists Award-winning artists from the Gulf Coast, West Coast, Carolinas and DMV regions will showcase their talent and artistry while showing which region produces the biggest gospel hits and hits. Multi-award-winning musician and syndicated radio personality Lonnie Hunter will host the four-part series “Gospel City Playlist,” featuring gospel artists legendary like Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and Israel Houghtonand some gospel artists emerging artists like Mali Music and Pastor Mike Jr., among many others.

For the first time in tour history, fans can watch the show from the McDonald’s App while reppin’ their city. Before each show, fans can also experience a virtual red carpet hosted by a social media comedian @NotKarltonBanks who will perform animated sketches, host lively interviews with touring artists and give viewers a behind-the-scenes look.

Each year, the concert series helps to raise awareness Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) and its mission to improve the health and well-being of children and their families, which is critically important today as the country continues to fight COVID-19. Virtual concert-goers will be able to donate to RMHC live at OMRM.org/ICGT2021. McDonald’s has supported RMHC for more than 40 years as a founding mission partner and continues to support global charities in a variety of ways. Since 2012, the McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration® gospel tour has raised more than $1.08 million to help families stay close when their children are sick.
