Yancy Wins Dove Award for Holy Forever Children’s Song

Yancy’s Triumph at the Dove Awards

On October 9, Yancy, a prominent worship leader and songwriter, received the Dove Award for Children’s Recorded Song of the Year for her captivating rendition of “Holy Forever.” With over a hundred songs under her belt that resonate with audiences worldwide, Yancy, alongside producer Stephen Leiweke, created a stirring cover of this beloved worship anthem.

Inspired by Chris Tomlin’s original version, which won the Song of the Year, Yancy’s performance is more than just music; it’s a heartfelt expression of faith. “I fell in love with this song on the first listen,” Yancy shared. “It’s a moment of connection, inviting both the young and old to join in worship, singing ‘holy, holy, holy’ and praising the One above all.”

About Yancy:

Yancy is a worship leader, songwriter and producer of hundreds of songs that make Jesus loud. Her Dove Awards-winning music is all the things kids love and everything adults value. A powerhouse at leading and teaching kids from birth to preteen how to worship, Yancy creates popular worship resources for churches and homes around the world and is a passionate advocate of raising disciples to worship.

She authored the book Sweet Sound: The Power of Discipling Kids in Worship, and created “Heartbeat,” a curriculum to teach kids the heart of worship. As a songwriter, Yancy also penned the chart-topping/ASCAP Award-winning song “I Don’t Want To Go” for Avalon’s GRAMMY and Dove-nominated Oxygen album and wrote pop favorite “Something Beautiful” for Jaci Velasquez.

She has also shared the stage with Michael W. Smith, Newsboys and the Billy Graham Association, as well as tours as a worship leader for SuperStart weekend events for preteens. Yancy lives with her husband and two sons in Nashville, TN.
