Washly Jean was born on April 17 in Île de La Tortue, Haiti. He grew up in a large and musical family, son of Coralia Jean Pierre and Seldieu Jean. His family environment exposed him to two worlds: that of his father, a musician in the popular jazz group “Chouchou du Nord-Ouest” (1980s-95s), and that of his mother, a teacher involved in community educational activities.
Artistic Journey: From Compass, Gospel Mighty Spirit to Pran Kontrol Senyè
In 2013, Washly Jean released his first album in collaboration with the group Mighty Spirit. This project, entitled Jezi ap vinimarks his official debut in the music industry.
In 2016, he launched his 11-track solo album entitled Pran kontrol senyè. However, this project went unnoticed due to lack of full promotion. However, he was able to demonstrate his abilities as a songwriter and singer to those who had the opportunity to appreciate the quality of his work and his talent as a musician.
Washly Jean is a compass gospel music singer that audiences will soon discover – a unique genre that merges the vibrant rhythm of the Haitian compass with the spiritual message of gospel.
Washly Jean is also known as a worship leader. This is where he builds his loyal following and real impact. Her passion for gospel music and community involvement allow her to authentically connect with people.
At the same time, he became an entrepreneur by opening a restaurant, diversifying his income and demonstrating a realistic vision of the business world.
He is married, father of one son, and balances his family responsibilities with his multiple professional projects.
Determination Gospel Music (DGM): Label for Promoting Young Gospel Talents
Rather than only continuing his solo career, Washly Jean created Determination Gospel Music (DGM)a label intended to promote young talents. Under this label, operates Determination Gospel Bandthe training through which Washly Jean and his collaborators carry the message of the gospel.
This platform embodies his maturity: he consciously chooses to transcend the role of solo artist to embody that of builder, mentor and spiritual guide for the new generation of Haitian gospel artists.
San Ou – New Creation Determination Gospel Music
At the end of November 2025, the Determination Gospel Music label will release the original composition San Ou, accompanied by its official video, marking a new chapter in his career and that of the label.
