Today (May 4), singer/songwriter Ellie Holcomb releases the official lyric video for “I Will Carry You,” which can be viewed below. The track was written by Ben Glover and Holcomb and will be featured on her upcoming release Canyon, which is set to drop on June 25, is available now to pre-order and pre-register.
For Canyon, Holcomb teamed up with an incredibly talented team of co-writers including Natalie Hemby, NEEDTOBREATHE’s Bear Rinehart and Thad Cockrell, and the project was produced by Cason Cooley with executive producer and his father, Brown Bannister. The title track was written by Holcomb, Thad Cockrell and Cason Cooley.
“I’ve seen Jesus meet me in the wounds of my own history that I’ve tried to hide or bury, and I’ve experienced God’s kindness and empathy in my most painful places in a palpable way, so these songs are written from a new place of wholeness, healing, and freedom,” Holcomb says. “This is the first record I’ve ever made that makes me want to run or dance! I hope it makes people want to dance for the joy of knowing they’re loved.”
Since his solo debut in 2014, Holcomb has won two GMA Dove Awardsincluding New Artist of the Year, became a bestselling children’s author with accompanying EPs, has over 157 million global streams and has recently performed and been interviewed on The show TODAY with Amy Grant for the special project FAITHFUL. She and her husband Drew Holcomb have also teamed up with Tennessee: tourism for a campaign where they also released two songs earlier this year. Last year, the Holcombs invited fans to their homes almost every night for their now-famous Kitchen blankets at the height of the pandemic.
