Tye Tribbett and Jekalyn Carr Invited to Co-Host 36th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards

The “Greatest Night in ” returns live with the 36th edition of Stellar Awards, taped July 10 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN. Gospel legend Tye Tribbett and contemporary artist and multiple Stellar Award winner have been tapped to host the highly anticipated event, which will feature inspiring performances from the genre’s most celebrated artists.

Viewers can expect dynamic performances from millennial gospel superstar and former Stellar Awards host, which received eight nominations this year. Famed gospel artists JJ Hairston, Maverick City Music, Pastor Mike Jr. and will also perform with hosts Tribbett and Carr. The Clark Sisters, who will receive the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award, will deliver a moving performance at this year’s ceremony.

“After a challenging 2020, we are thrilled to return to the main stage in one of the world’s musical epicenters, Nashville, TN, for the 36th annual Stellar “Awards,” said Don Jackson, Founder of Stellar Awards and President of Central City Productions. “With the theme of ‘Lighting the Way with Our Faith, Music and Family,’ we are ready to deliver an evening of inspiration and celebration, led by the incomparable Tye Tribett and , who are sure to bring high energy and excitement to the evening.”

“I am so excited to return to the Stellar stage this year as a host alongside my sister, ,” said Tribbett. “This is the biggest night in gospel! I can’t wait to see and hear all the incredible music that has blessed us this year! LET’S GO!”

Maverick City Music and Pastor Mike, Jr., each receiving seven nominations, including one nod each for Artist of the Year. Other notable artists receiving multiple Stellar nominations include The Clark Sisters, Rev. Luther Barnes and the Restoration Worship Center Choir, the Chicago Mass Choir and host . The incomparable Lady Tramaine Hawkins will receive the Aretha Franklin Icon Award for her contribution to .

“The 36th Stellar Awards will certainly be the gospel celebration of the year,” Carr noted. “I look forward to celebrating my peers, as well as those who have paved the way for gospel artists like myself to create and perform.”

The Stellar Awards live show taping returns to Nashville at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in the heart of downtown Nashville on Saturday, July 10. With Covid-19 restrictions now lifted, tickets to the Stellar Awards Awards 2021 will be available to the public soon. For ticket updates, follow us on social media and check our website for the purchase link. Covid-19 safety protocols will also be posted at that time. Viewers across the country will also be able to watch the show in national syndication from August 7 to September 5.
