Three Essential Characteristics – Our Focus on Worship
Where did we get the idea to write about the Three Essential Characteristics of a True Worshiper?
For some time now, on the Facebook page of BGospel Magazinewe have made a habit of publishing Bible verses on worship and praise.
Many people boast of being worshipersand God has blessed us with many psalmists who compose extraordinary hymns.
In worship we see the word worshipper. What is a worshiper according to you? Is it just the fact that we sing either in a group, or in the choir, or in church, or even at home, that makes us worshipers?
In the following lines I will try to present to you the essential points of a true worshiper who gives praise and adoration that God accepts.
First, a true worshiper must be true in his worship.
In the book of Isaiah 29:13, the Lord declares that the people honor him with their mouth, but their heart is far from him, and Jesus himself declared in John 4:23 that the true worshipers worship God in spirit and in truth.
Sometimes we sing, or declare God, you are wonderful, you are powerful, you are everything to me, etc. but do we really believe it? saying that God can do anything is one thing, but believing it is another.
The same mouth that says that: “my God can do everything, my God will deliver me from all evil” well, it’s the same mouth that curses God when everything goes wrong. You may be saying to yourself, I have never cursed God. But is the doubt that you let poison your life, the fear and worry that ravages you, a way of honoring God?
A true worshiper is one who continues to believe even after menopause, even in old age, that God will give the child he had promised, according to his will, and who still serves God faithfully as on the first day.
Secondly a true worshiper walks in obedience
sometimes we sacrifice so much, getting up early to go to church, participating in every rehearsal if we are in the choir, we make extraordinary sacrifices for the kingdom. Everyone sees our zeal for God’s kingdom, but in our hearts, God’s will is our last concern.
The Bible states in 1 Samuel 15:22 that obedience is better than sacrifice. It is good to serve God, it is good to sacrifice for the kingdom, it is good to sing, to praise, to honor God, but if we do not obey his word, it is worthless. do them, it was better to do nothing.
Because what God wants is for us to obey his will and be holy.
Third, a true worshiper of God loves his neighbor
Perhaps this should have been the first point, because the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13:1-4 that if we do not practice Love, everything we do is in vain.
Love is the pillar of our relationship with God, because God loved us so much he gave us his son Jesus to save us. So, a true worshiper is a lover of God, first of all, since he does not worship God according to circumstances, but for what he is. And secondly, he loves his neighbor because he knows that without love God cannot dwell in him.
In short, there are so many things to say to describe a true worshiper, such as a true worshiper is humble, an intimate of God, a true worshiper is a servant, a true worshiper is generous, but I summarize them in these three points listed above.
To be true in his worship, to be obedient to the Word of God, and walk in love. If you can build your life on these three things, it is impossible not to possess the other qualities that will make you a true worshiper.
