Two days after an address to political actors, the Protestant Federation of Haiti launches a new appeal. This time it is to Christians that she addresses through a new note signed by the president of the FPH, Pastor Calixte Fleuridor. After recommendations to exercise solidarity and contribute to peace and justice, it is an invitation to prayer that the pastor makes to the churches on Wednesday October 2 and Thursday October 3, 2019.
The day after a particularly turbulent day during which several public and private institutions were looted and some burned, the number #1 of the FPH reacted to ask the Protestant community to observe two days of prayer. He even suggests the themes of these days: “the ‘persecuted’ churches, a return to calm, may heaven send us concerned and responsible leaders, and the sick” .
This second communication from the new executive council of the Protestant Federation, the first from the President of the structure, stands out in a context where almost the entire population is on the living. If the next few days prove to be lenient towards the country, the various fields of reconstruction that we have inflicted on ourselves and a school year already reduced even before its real launch should constitute more pressing concerns mid-week.
