TBN, the world’s largest religious broadcaster, today announced special programming for the Easter weekend. Building on the success of last year’s programming, which reached 15 million people, the network is offering more content than ever from Thursday, April 1 through Easter Sunday, April 4.
“I am thrilled that TBN will be able to offer millions of Christians the opportunity to celebrate Easter again this year with new programming throughout the weekend,” said Matt Crouch, President of TBN. “We had great success last year and are grateful to be able to bring more new content to our viewers.”
The program will kick off on Thursday, April 1 at 8 p.m. ET with the network partnering with the Museum of the Bible to present “The Story of Easter” narrated by Matthew West. Filmed in Israel, Italy and at the Museum of the Bible, the program takes a broad perspective on the story of Easter, presenting the origins of many of its traditions that have developed throughout the ages, concluding with a presentation of the original Easter week.
Following “The Easter Story” is “Because He Lives: A Celebration of Easter” in partnership with Gospel Music Association at 9 p.m. ET. Hosted by Danny Gokey and Blanca, the hour-long program will include a short spoken segment by Rabbi Jason Sobel and feature musical guests such as Amy Grant, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, CeCe WinansEllie Holcomb, Jekalyn CarrKaren Peck & New River, Natalie Grant And Bernie HermsNicole C. and Zach Williams.
On Friday, April 2, TBN will present a one-hour special, “Good Friday Around the World,” hosted by Chris Tomlin and Max Lucado at 8 p.m. ET. The special will feature a sermon by beloved pastor and New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado, worship led by Grammy Award winner Chris Tomlin, featuring recording artists Pat Barrett, We The Kingdom and a surprise guest star.
The Easter Sunday programming weekend on April 4th includes messages on the theme of the resurrection from TBN’s teachers, as well as the “Worldwide Easter Celebration” hosted by Chris Tomlin and Max Lucado at 8pm ET. This special will feature the worship of Chris Tomlin, Pat Barrett and We The Kingdom.
Additional Easter programming will air on the network throughout the weekend.
