Born on May 30, 1988, Spencer Brutus is from the commune of Pointe des Palmis, in the northwest of Haiti. He followed his classical studies in an American school in Port-de-Paix, where he learned English.
In 2004, he left for UNITED STATES to continue his studies. Under pressure from his father, who served as school principal and teacher, he had to return to Haiti during the holidays to take the baccalaureate I and II exams.
In 2006, he permanently settled in UNITED STATES and entered medical school, which he was unable to complete due to health problems.
Passionate about music, he decided to devote himself entirely to this passion and became musical director of his church, in addition to owning a recording studio.
This talented singer from the evangelical sector is also a science teacher at Menor High School. He is also a married man and father of children.
Beginnings in music
At the age of eight, Spencer Brutus became interested in music and began taking piano lessons. Over time, he became a talented pianist and gained some fame. He also enjoyed composing music for other artists.
Following a division within his church which led to the departure of certain members, he became more involved in the worship ministry by playing the piano. It was then that he discovered his singing talents and began writing inspirational songs and dedicating himself to prayer to draw closer to God.

In 2020, he charmed music lovers around the world with “Aktive Pwisans ou”; this title ignited the Christian repertoire and won the prize for best evangelical music of the year.
He also collaborated with rapper Frè Gabe on an Afro-style song called “Se Bondye ki fèl pou mwen”.
After his accident, the artist released two more songs that he says were inspired by God: “Glwa li pral eklate” and “Mwen reklamel”.
In 2023, he participated as a worshiper in the 40 days of the church Tabernacle of Glory led by the Pastor Gregory Toussaint.

Spencer Brutus, worshiper or artist?
Spencer Brutus considers himself more of a worshiper than an artist. Indeed, he believes that the term “artist” is increasingly associated with ego and superiority.
Consequently, he does not see himself in this way, because he places himself above all in an attitude of grace. For him, his main goal is to worship God and edify his people through spiritual songs.
“To be a worshiper or a psalmist, there is a price to pay. It is the price of kneeling in prayer in order to ask the Lord for grace to receive the revelation of the songs that he must sing,” declared the worshiper during his interview with the BGospel magazine.
He is more interested in seeing souls edified through his compositions than in seeking tens of thousands of views on the social networks. A transformed soul is much more important to God.
