Sonese Charles, Biography

BGospel newsletter

Born on November 16 in Port au Prince into a Christian family of 3 daughters of which she is the eldest, Sonèse Charles made her church debut, like the majority of Christian singers. At the Church of God of Fontamara 37 directed at that time by Pastor Jacques Virgelin Shibba, she attended the children's temple when she was 8 years old.

She remembers it like it was yesterday. Early on with a passion for music and a very muffled and high-pitched voice, her favorite moment in church was the musical part, where all children had the opportunity to showcase their talent. What she did not miss on every occasion.

These combined talents later formed, at the initiative of two elders Patrick Hyppolite and Shadrack Paul, "the children of the promise" who today excels in music, radio animation etc.

Sonèse has since been part of several groups of young Christians such as Maadai of the Church of God of the Renaissance, the choir Holy Gospel directed in time by Caleb François, current keyboardist of the group YES, Alegria Gospel and choir CHWAPAM led by Saidel Saintil.

For now, Sonèse is a member of the SARIAH group, a young group of women who sing the glory of God. At the same time, she embarked on a solo career by submitting her first test-pressing, "M pa gen pou-m pè", since February 2014 to the appreciation of the public. This song which benefits from the arrangements of Caleb François is the testimony of an unfailing faith of the artist, mingled with his experiences with God in his life.

Sonese was born to sing. "That's what I know how to do, and that's why I put it in the service of God," she exults. To release a solo album soon? Sonese does not think about it yet. The essential thing for her is to exalt the name of God through music, whether with SARIAH directed by Charleson DUVERNE, whether solo. However, she has several songs in her drawer that she intends to record and share with the general public at the appropriate time.
