Skillet guitarist Seth Morrison and his wife Hillary welcomed their first child, daughter June Noelle, on August 16, 2022. Weighing 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 20 inches long, the couple couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to their family.
“Hilary and I are thrilled and immensely blessed to welcome June into the world,” Morrison said. “God gave us and entrusted this child to the shepherd and we couldn’t be more grateful. »
After his birth, they also share their personal story and struggle to be able to conceive and, ultimately, the power of prayer:
“June is truly a testimony to the power of prayer as her children interceded and prayed alongside us,” Seth recalled. “We had been trying to conceive for almost 2 years and had begun the next steps to discover the potential causes of infertility. We had planned for Hilary to have exploratory laparoscopic surgery in January. Obviously something like this is personal, and we’re usually private people by nature, so we hadn’t shared this struggle with anyone. It was September 2021 and we were starting our fall tour in Chicago, and I opened up to John, Kor, Jen, the leaders of each of our churches, and immediate family to let them know where things stood and they immediately began to cover us in prayer.”
“Although I have often prayed for answers and healing, and that God would grant the desire for a child, I have also prayed specifically for full satisfaction and contentment in Him, whether in His plan for us or not,” says Hilary. “I wanted to be waiting for God’s blessing, but not just ‘waiting’ for fulfillment. Meanwhile, Korey poured into me and reminded me of Hannah (Samuel’s mother) – how she had a great situation with a husband who loved her, but despite everything, she wouldn’t be happy until God bless her. I have read Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel 2 several times.
“Fast forward to November, we were visiting family in Ohio and Hilary had a positive pregnancy the day after Thanksgiving,” Seth continued. “We love sharing this journey of God’s goodness and faithfulness and hope it touches someone who reads it. We can rest and know that His timing and plan are always perfect. June is the sweetest gift – she has brought so much joy into our lives and is a constant reminder of the power of prayer.“
