Senior Pastor Jeff Frazier of Chapelstreet Church in Illinois has been placed on leave due to his consumption of alcohol on church premises and his cover-up of the act.
The church’s executive board made the decision to address issues hampering Frazier’s performance. Brian Coffey has been named interim senior pastor.
Chapelstreet Church operates under a governance model involving pastors and the congregation. Coffey expressed shock and pain at the news and called on the congregation to support Frazier during his healing journey.
