Delly Benson was born in Cap Haïtien on October 3, 1986. He spent a good part of his life in Gonaïves where he did his classical studies. From a young age, Benson began singing in church but it was not until 2001, when he joined the “Youth Club for Jesus” that he understood the call of Jesus in his life.
2007 – Delly Benson at Digicel Stars
In 2007, Benson won the title of vice-champion in the 1st edition of the “Digicel Stars” singing competition. Returned the same year to Port au Prince for university studies, he enrolled respectively at the Center for Diplomatic and International Studies (CEDI) to study Marketing and at the Ministère Pêcheur d’Hommes International (MPHI) for studies in theology.
At MPHI, he met the woman who would become his wife, and they married at the end of their theology studies. From this union two daughters were born, Shamma and Sophia.
2009 – creation of Holysongs
In April 2009, Benson founded a ministry called “Holysongs,” which is made up of musicians, cantors and prayer leaders. Accompanied by his team, in May 2011 he released his first album entitled “You are Lord / Ou se Senyè” which includes 15 pieces: 1. Alleluia 2. Plis lanmou 3. Vrai Dieu 4. You are Lord 5. This album, all of which is divinely inspired, is a constant source of spiritual blessings. From many parts of the world such as France, the United States, Canada, Martinique, Bahamas, Santo Domingo, Holland, Chile, Guadeloupe, Grand Turk, Provincial etc., thousands of people testify to having been edified through these melodies.
Benson and his group regularly participate in worship and praise concerts all over the country: Cap Haïtien, Gonaïves, Montrouis, Arcahaie, Cabaret, Port-de Paix, Leogane, Miragoane, Pétion-Ville, Delmas, Carrefour , Parisian Fund, Negro Fund. They have also performed in the United States of America, at the invitation of various churches in Florida.
DELLY Benson is today with its ministry Holysongs, a channel through which God edifies His Church through the songs that He inspires in it. Benson recognizes that any notoriety, success or honor he has and can earn as a composermusician and interpreterhe owes them to the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who gave him the grace to grant him gifts, talents, favors and blessings.
