Moïse Mbiye, emblematic figure of the Congolese Gospel scene and recognized evangelical pastor, recently posed a strong symbolic act by offering a professional piano at the National Institute of Arts (INA) in Kinshasa, his former formative institution, Tuesday August 19, 2025. This gesture, relayed to the public via platforms like Youtube, Facebook and the special Effective to artistic youth and cultural transmission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Founded on December 1, 1967, the INA is today the benchmark for artistic higher education in the Congo. Its mission is to train artists and professionals in music, theater, dance, cinema, cultural management and artistic diplomacy. The institution is based in particular on Congolese rumba, listed as the intangible heritage of UNESCO, but also provides a rigorous teaching of classical music, traditional expressions and modern music like gospel.
During the ceremony, Moïse Mbiye spoke before students and teachers, stressing his attachment and the value of his career at the INA:
“The fact of not going to the end of In Ina allowed me something, to use the little that I had discovered in Ina and mix it with what I had inside me to make the music that I do today. So, I will never forget that in what I do, if we have to say success … So in this success, there is this seed of the National Institute of Arts. »»
He also insisted on the need to support future talents:
“I chose to come back here because Ina taught me to touch a few touches of the piano. I came back with this piano to help you. … It is my gift to testify my love and my gratitude to the Institute. »»
This gift was greeted by a strong emotion to the INA. The director general, Félicien Professor Tshumungu, praised the scope of the gesture, announcing publicly:
“As managing director, I announce that the Reverend Pasteur Moïse Mbiyé is decorated Ambassador of the INA. »»
The event has aroused positive reactions to students and staff of the institution, some seeing a call to strengthen the links between cultural personalities and the country’s formative structures.
The INA, strong of more than a thousand students per year and partnerships with UNESCO, remains a locomotive of artistic training in Central Africa, promoting educational innovation and the promotion of Congolese musical heritage.
Congratulations to Pastor Moïse Mbiye for this remarkable gesture of generosity and commitment to Congolese artistic youth. His involvement in the service of training and the future of the young talents of the INS testifies to a true love in action, beyond words. His example forces admiration and deserves to be followed: he challenges everyone, particularly the pastors, artists and Haitian musicians, to invest in concrete terms in the transmission of values, support for education and culture. In turn, let us show, through solidarity and constructive acts, the depth of the love that we preach. That this inspiration leads to a collective and positive dynamic in the Haitian community and throughout the Evangelical Francophonie.
