Who is ? His Beginnings in Music

is a young man whom God is using for His mission. I grew up in the . My mother was Christian and is still part of the Second Baptist Church of Port-au-Prince, under Pastor Sénophat Point Du Jour. From a very young age, she took me to church cohorts. Our neighbors were Christian, and when she couldn’t go, they would look after me. I usually attended the Nazarene Church of Bel-Air. That’s where it all began for me; that’s where I discovered my passion for music. I never thought I would become a musician myself. In my church, I would always sit in the front row, eager to be close to the musicians. Once at home, I would tune into Radio Lumière, grab some sticks, and use pots as my percussion instruments, accompanying the radio music. I was around 4 or 5 years old when I started admiring artists like Joël Lorquet! It was an immense joy for me to recently share the stage with him at a worship and adoration club organized by Monique César Guillaume Ministries at Le Villatte.

That’s how, at a young age, I developed my love for the church. Later, I left the Nazarene Church and joined Pastor Sénophat Point Du Jour’s congregation. There, I attended Sunday school and got involved in theater with Mrs. Alpha. At one point, I portrayed one of the three Hebrews: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. When I moved to Delmas, I got closer to another church. My neighbor, Jézunel, fascinated me with his guitar playing. When it was time for him to travel to obtain his residency, he promised to teach me music notes, basic music concepts, and major scales. He introduced me to the guitar and took me to Harmonie des Anges while I played on a small keyboard.

My first public performance as a psalmist and artist took place in Delmas 24, at Pastor Alezy’s church, where I performed an arrangement of “Lè lapèl la fèt nan syèl la.” I didn’t know I had a talent for singing. It was a success, and I realized I had a gift. From there, Jézunel took me to the Church Sur Le Rocher. It was during a youth event there, when I sang another song, that my career began. It was exhilarating.

I faithfully participated in youth activities. One day, I was invited to sing during a service. The Pastor noticed me and became interested. He decided not to let me go. He invited me to join the worship team. Two maestros preceded me in this church, and now, here I am!

After completing my baccalaureate degree, I opted for Business Management at ENST, where I obtained a degree. While studying management, I also completed a three-year bachelor’s degree in Theology.

What inspired to pursue a career in music?

Garry’s passion for music was ignited at a young age by his church experiences, where he was captivated by musicians and worship. His first public performance revealed his talent and desire to serve through music.
