Punctuating the global phenomenon of The Chosen, CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: THE MESSENGERS, the first in the franchise to hit theaters nationwide via Fathom Events, went on sale during a live stream of the series from creator, writer and director Dallas Jenkins on Tuesday night and shattered pre-sales records for the distributor.
“CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: MESSENGERS broke Fathom Events’ record with $1.5 million in sales in the first 12 hours,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events. “Originally scheduled to premiere in 1,079 theaters, we have already added over 450 locations and thousands of screens to meet demand, and we expect those numbers to continue to grow.”
Filmed entirely in secret, THE MESSENGERS shows the birth of Christ through the eyes of Mary and Joseph and features actors from the series The Chosen.
