Nathaniel Bassey launches historic new season of the Hallelujah Challenge
Cantor Pastor Nathaniel Bassey officially opened the first session of the Hallelujah Challenge 2026 on February 9. This virtual prayer movement saw massive participation, bringing together around 581,000 people live on YouTube in the first hour.
This inaugural edition, placed under the theme “MERCY”, focuses the attention of the faithful on thanksgiving rather than on personal requests. This launch follows Operation “Judah First,” a 24-hour, uninterrupted worship chain held the day before.
How to participate in this global event? Sessions take place daily online from 11:59 p.m. Since 2017, this nighttime gathering has become a major spiritual tradition, aligning thousands of believers in prayer and worship.
When will this season end? The challenge will culminate physically with the Hallelujah Festival in Lagos. This great vigil promises to bring together emblematic figures of international gospel for a night of intense celebration until dawn.
