I like this quote from FW NIETZSCHE who says that ”Without music life would be a mistake”. Honestly, I think he’s absolutely right. Because music is from God, and everything that comes from God is vital.
Born in Port-Margot, in the north of Haiti, on January 17, 1974, I am the eldest of a family of 5 children. After my birth, my parents, who already lived in the big metropolis, brought me back to Port-au Prince. And that’s where I grew up and did all my education.
Music being in my genes, I joined the choir of the Baptiste Mont-Joly church at the age of five. Then, at 14, with the young people from my neighborhood, we set up a literary club where music was omnipresent. In addition, we do theater, poetry and dance.
In 1994, I joined the Adonaï group and in 1998, we released the first pressing text: Jou pa’m nan, of which I am theinterpreter. This album propelled us among the greats of music evangelical, and allowed us to tour all the major cities of Haiti. We thank the Lord for his grace.
This talent is a gift from God, and over the years I have only polished it. One of my models was my late uncle, Pierre Richard Louis, singer of the groups Souffle divin and Alabanza. The way he dressed and sang impressed me a lot. In my eyes, he was an artist at heart: composer, arranger, singer. The whole family admired him.
I had the chance to work on several album projects including three with Adonaï “jou pa’m nan, nan syel, fo’m ale”. In addition, I have collaborated with many artists and groups including Elie Pierre, Bernard Louissaire, Delly Benson, Johnny Marc Pierre. I have made arrangements on albums and texts, and I am the author of texts for Artists and groups such as: Esther jacques Léandre, INDEL, and others.
In 2017, with the help of God and my longtime friend and manager, Nadine Francillon, I released the album, Il Pourvoira. It is a mixture of several musical styles. It took me 20 years to release this product and I’m very proud of it. I give glory to God. Currently, we are touring the churches of Port au Prince and provincial towns.
For those who don’t know, I am also a writer, painter, journalist. For more than 19 years, I have been hosting on the radio, and currently, I host the show, Souffle matinal on Énergie Fm, in the morning, from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
At the same time, I volunteer with the Angelic Voice Foundation (FOVA), an organization that has worked with children for over eleven years. I am a member of Grouping of Evangelical Broadcasts from Haiti (REMEH), Coordinator of a Bless association and befounded after January 12, 2010. Their mission is theevangelization. To do this, they organize free concerts across the country.
