Martin Smith’s life and career have always been an open book. From a life-threatening car accident in his twenties, to fame as the frontman of Delirious? the father of six has always spoken candidly about his experiences. His journey has been remarkable and his music reflects not only his prowess as an accomplished musician and songwriter, but also his unwavering faith and belief that together we can change the world.
After a brief hiatus, Martin released “Dancing in the Fire” – the first single from his brand new studio album, earlier this year. The release garnered support from BBC Radio Two and generated widespread media coverage. Hot on its heels was second release “Trouble”, a collaboration between Martin and The Kingdom Choir, most recently known for performing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. A fan favourite, “Trouble”, released in September, has already generated over 235,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Ahead of his album release next year, Martin is set to release his third single, “Fire In Your Eyes,” on November 19. Brimming with energy and a soaring, anthemic chorus, the single showcases Smith’s signature style and ability to seamlessly blend his musical influences with a contemporary praise and worship sound.
“This song continues the theme of Fire!
This time, however, we are not “in” the fire but “seeing” the fire in the eyes of God.
It is still the fire that leads us through the dead of night and I am grateful that during this season of COVID we have all been cared for and carried through extraordinary uncertainty.
Please do me a favor. Find a place where you can turn the music up REALLY loud and jump, dance, scream, and let go of the fear that has gripped us.
This dance will be our story.
With lockdown restrictions easing over the summer, Martin is back at the helm doing what he does best – performing live. Recent performances have taken him as far away as Romania, and Pennsylvania in the UNITED STATES where he performed alongside Amanda Cook and Paul Baloche. Fans old and new have embraced his new releases, something particularly evident during his live performances, as they patiently await the release of the full-length record in February 2022.
