Marcos Witt: A Grammy for Legado

Marcos Witt, pastor and Christian artist, won the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Christian Album in Spanish for his album Legado. This distinction, obtained on November 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, marks his seventh trophy in this category.​

Artistic Journey

Born in 1962 in San Antonio, Texas, Marcos Witt grew up in Mexico and trained at the University of Juarez in classical music. In 1986, he founded CanZion Producciones and recorded his first album, Song to God. He also launched CanZion Institute in 1994, training more than 3,000 worship leaders on 28 campuses in Latin America, the United States and Europe.​

From 2002 to 2012, Marcos Witt was pastor of Lakewood Church (Houston, Texas), the largest evangelical church in the United States, before devoting himself full-time to evangelism and music. He occasionally intervenes in various churches for special events.

His career spans 40 years, with more than 27 million albums sold in Latin America and the United States. A pastor and author of 10 books, Witt spreads Christian music through conventions like Adoradores. Originally from Mexico, he operates mainly in the United States and Colombia for his projects.​

Marcos Witt has more than 30 albums. Among the most notable, Recordando Otra Vez (2004) and Viviré (2021), both winners at the Latin Grammys. On Spotify and Apple Music, his tracks like “Tu Fidelidad” and “Renuévame” have millions of plays.​

On November 7, he sang in Washington (DC, USA) at the DAR Constitution Hall, with lead role in solo worship. November 9 in Newark (New Jersey, USA) at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and November 15 in Miami (Florida, USA) at the James L. Knight Center. No collaboration confirmed for these shows, but focus on Legado.​
