For I want you to know how great is the battle that I am waging for you, and for those who are in Laodicea, and for all those who have not seen my face in the flesh,

so that their hearts may be filled with consolation, united in love, and enriched with full understanding to know the mystery of God, even Christ,

mystery in which all the treasures of wisdom and science are hidden.

I say this so that no one deceives you with seductive speeches.
2.5
For though I am absent in body, I am with you in spirit, seeing with joy the good order that reigns among you, and the firmness of your faith in Christ.

Therefore, as you have received the Lord Jesus Christ, walk in him,

being rooted and established in him, and established by the faith, according to the instructions which were given to you, and abound in thanksgiving.

Take care that no one makes you his prey through philosophy and vain deception, relying on the tradition of men, on the rudiments of the world, and not on Christ.
