Elected officials – Gospel committed group of Carrefour, Haiti
For nine years, the Evangelical Group, the elected officials has resonated the notes of a deep faith and an authentic artistic commitment in the commune of Carrefour, in Haiti. Founded on January 17, 2016 at the request of the Reverend Jean Ernest Chervil and Bidol César, former Maestro, the group is today led by the talented Stanley Shegger Aris, who is both the leader, Maestro, arranger, producer, composer and vocal lead.
The name “the elected officials” was chosen after careful thinking: it symbolizes a spiritual appeal, a divine mission received by its members. The motto “Elus'n Ye” reminds each of them that he is not there by chance, but invested with a mission for the kingdom.
The group is made up of 14 members, including musicians, choristers and soloists. In addition to Stanley Shegger Aris, the group counts Schnyder René (percussionist, composer, arranger assistant), Jean Obed Laneau (secretary and vocal lead), Rood Philippe Arthur Israel (president), as well as ten other powerful and committed voices.
The mission of elected officials goes far beyond singing. They seek to propagate the Gospel, to transform lives, to build and to consciousness through inspired and original music. The group also works in social actions, proving that their commitment is not limited to the scene.
Elected officials are distinguished by their rich and eclectic musical style. Their sound draws from gospel, soul, dancehall, trap, film music and even Indian rhythms. This daring fusion reflects their will to make faith, culture and creativity dialogue. Although they sometimes interpret covers, the majority of their songs are original compositions, carefully selected for their substance and their compatibility with the identity of the group.
Among their creations, “Selebre” is a hymn that perfectly embodies the soul of the group. Their faith, engine of all their activities, permeates each word, each melody, each performance. It is a faith that connects the group to its audience, and especially to God.
Elected officials work today independently. Their rehearsals are held every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., with additional sessions as needed. To maintain a family and harmonious atmosphere, a commission regularly organizes internal activities. The new members, on the other hand, go through a rigorous hearing period of up to three months, in order to test their commitment, both musical and behavioral.
The group's journey is punctuated by strong moments: the release of their first single “Labitye Kanpe Pou Mwen”, the video of “Selebre”, significant concerts at Carrefour and during various national events such as “Ann Louwe L”, “Amazing Grace”, or recently the concert of the Gospe Saphir Ministry “W Aby” choir, etc. The audience's gaze during the first performance of “Selebre” remains an unforgettable memory for the group.
Today, elected officials turn to the future with enthusiasm. The release of their first album is their priority, accompanied by potential collaborations with other artists and choirs. A tour is also envisaged, depending on the possibilities.
To all those who hesitate to embark on Gospel music, the elected officials send this message: “This talent in you is divine and deposited. Put it in the service of the kingdom. »Their ultimate wish? May the public feel awakening, reflection, astonishment and a new spiritual dimension after listening to them.
