The former drummer of Casting CrownsAndy Williams, has died at the age of 49 from complications related to a serious motorcycle accident. The band shared the update on social media, saying Williams passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 9. Facebook.
Williams was struck by a vehicle less than two weeks ago while on his way to church, was resuscitated at the scene and then rushed to a nearby hospital. During his hospitalization, Williams reportedly required a ventilator and a leg amputation. Williams continued, “You prayed with us for Andy to be healed. You prayed with us for Andy to wake up. You prayed with us for God to perform a miracle. While we mourn that Andy is not here with us and that we did not witness the miracle we were waiting for here on earth, all of our prayers have been answered. He is healed, he is awake and we believe he is more alive today than he has ever been.”
In an article shared by Casting CrownsKelly Williams added, “We hold fast to Paul’s words that we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen, for they are eternal. We celebrate that Andy is in the arms of his Savior and are grateful for the memories and laughter Andy brought to all who knew him. We can never thank you enough for your prayers, support and endless love. You walked with us through this very difficult journey and we felt you there every step of the way.”
