Alternative and independent DIY artist Alex Henry Foster publishes hisThe power of the heart” Lou Reed critically acclaimed cover. Available now at digital and streaming outlets everywhere from Hopeful Tragedy Records, there is also a four-minute radio-ready mix and an eight-minute, 27-second version of “The Power of the Heart” included with the single. Additionally, there is a lathe cut and screen printed vinyl version that will be available on May 20th and will likely sell out within hours of release.

Many Spotify playlists also welcomed the release of “The Power of the Heart”. The Eh! List — by Exclaim! Perhaps Reed’s most underrated song, “The Power of the Heart” was also a favorite of the creative pioneer Laurie Anderson who was his longtime partner and wife until her death in 2013. Foster, who brings his own signature, dense sonic texture to the song, recorded “The Power of the Heart” partly in his Virginia studio , where he currently resides, with a grandiose orchestration captured live in his Quebec studio The upper room studio.
“I’ve been a fan of Lou Reed’s music ever since I found this strange-sounding LP called Transformer in the main section of my dad’s vinyl collection when I was a kid,” Foster shares. “It took me years, sinking into the darkest turbulence of my own inner journey, to consider the prospect of making a monument of sincerity such as “The Power of the Heart” my own. »
Last month, Foster and his band live-streamed all new music around the world during the Live from Echo Mountain studio event from Foster’s studio in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The event benefited Music saves UA and featured the song “All the Violence in the World”, which was offered as part of a limited collector’s edition LP, cut straight to the vinyl lathe, from Foster’s livestream SFCC The Club members. These vinyl LPs sold out in less than three hours after being offered.
