Jordan St. Cyr’s Hit Song “Fires” Impacts Radio for Over a Year

“Fires“Fires,” the empowering single from BEC Recordings artist and songwriter Jordan St. Cyr, has had a stunning debut at radio. While appearing on the Billboard Christian Airplay charts for 45 weeks and climbing to No. 5, “Fires” has been airplay on major networks and stations for over a year, reaching over 7.7 million people per week.

Written by St. Cyr “Fires” is one of the featured songs on his recently released EP, Be My Defender. Fans will have the opportunity to hear the song live when he tours this fall. Official details will be announced shortly.

St. Cyr co-wrote “Fires” with Micah Kuiper and Krissy Nordhoff two years ago after attending a Tin Pan South event in Nashville. He was inspired by a young man named Nathan who also attended the event while working as a valet. Nathan was so touched by the message of the songs that he left a note, thanking the songwriters for the hope he had been given. The note was eventually shared by one of the songwriters on social media and went viral. The young man was working three jobs and was on the verge of losing everything he owned, but enough money was quickly raised to save his house and pay off his debts.

“Looking back,” St. Cyr shares, “I now realize that God gave me Nathan’s story so that I could walk through my own… essay. Rather, He walks with me, guiding me through the pain and refining and purifying my heart so that I can know Him more.”

He adds, “The impact of the fires over the past year has been remarkable. Watching the song’s message resonate with so many, and its long life on the radio, is truly a testament to our deep need for God’s closeness in every season of life.”
