Do not fear, I call you by your name: you are mine. Isaiah 43:1.
Our trials are often so severe that they seem intolerable to us, and without God’s help they are true. If we do not trust in the Lord, we weaken under the weight of responsibilities which bring only sadness and pain. But if we put ourselves under the dependence of Christ we do not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed. When everything is dark and inexplicable, we must trust in divine love. Let us repeat within ourselves the words that Christ spoke: “What you do not know NOWyou will know later.”
Don’t behave as if Jesus were in Joseph’s tomb, a large stone rolled in front of the entrance. […] When you are tested, you have the certainty of a savior who intercedes for you and for your loved ones.
The Bible charges you with responsibilities for your own happiness. Look in the light of life. You will be all the more useful as your way of acting is more perfect.
We all ardently desire happiness, but most of us by the very fact that their method of seeking is wrong: they do not struggle. We must fight harder and mix faith with all our desires. Happiness then penetrates us almost without us realizing it. […] When, despite inconveniences, we rest confidently in the love of the Savior and nestle close to Him, peacefully abandoning ourselves to His love, the sense of the divine presence inspires us with deep and quiet joy. This attitude produces in us a faith which enables us to experience neither worry nor torment, but to depend on the infinite power.
We will thus have the power of Almighty… because Jesus is at our side. […] As trials abound, the power of God will abound.
