Inspired by Psalm 150:6 (Let everything that breathes praise the Lord), the new project of Joe MelendrezPRAISESHIP, was born from the pandemic, to remind us that we are all called to praise and worship God, whatever the circumstances.
“I hope this music inspires everyone who listens to it,” shares Melendrez. “That others may delve deeper into the soundscapes and uplifting messages inspired by Scripture. It’s music you can listen to when you’re working out, waking up, commuting to work, cleaning your room, etc. We were praised at all times. I pray that listeners will be able to connect with God in a new and fresh way.
Melendrez likes to include his children in the music he makes. Opening track “Awakening” features Melendrez’s 5-year-old daughter, Antoinette, and “Thank You God” features her 2-year-old son, Anthony. Melendrez is passionate about writing songs of hope that multiple generations can relate to and enjoy.
Five of the album’s tracks debuted in Germany during the God is Good festival in July 2021. “I’ve been sharing these songs live for 9 months,” says Melendrez. “All those who gather can dance, sing, chant and even drift into a special time of praise. PRAISESHIP is energizing, uplifting and unlike most Christian music.
