Jethro Decimus, is an artist, composer and an international producer. He was born in the Dutch part of Sint-Maarten, in the heart of the Caribbean, of Haitian origin. Jethro was raised and received his elementary education on the French side of the island. Today, thanks to this, Jethro is trilingual as he speaks French, English and Creole fluently.
The art of music has been a part of Jethro’s life since the age of five. However, it wasn’t until 2012 that he began writing and producing his own music. Throughout his musical career, music has impacted him in such a profound and meaningful way that words often seem incapable of describing his passion and inspirations. It aims to live a life centered on love, unity, peace and hope, and these attributes are reflected in his music. Jethro’s music genre is Fusion, a global genre, which is a blend of an Afro-Caribbean rhythmic pattern. Which explains some of his musical influences include Bob Marley, Wyclef Jean, Black Alex and Sara Tavares, among many others.
Jethro loves culture, the world and discovering new countries. This love fueled his passion for helping those less fortunate, which led him to participate in numerous humanitarian works around the world. Helping around the world inspired Jethro to express himself through music towards those less fortunate.
For his debut, Jethro released his first studio EP/Album entitled “EXODUS”, on November 25, 2016 (Available on all legal digital platforms). This five-song EP/Album tells the story of his journey and culture. The album has two main goals: to show the human race that we are all searching for some kind of freedom, and that we are in dire need of help that human power cannot manufacture. Jethro’s music leaves his listeners in a reflective state of mind.
