Today (February 25), Jeremy Camp shares the radio version of “Getting Started.” Additionally, Camp releases the official music video, which can be viewed below. He shares about the song:
I’ve come to realize that every song is so special when you write it. It’s an opportunity to pour out your heart and share everything God is showing you or doing in your life. I’ve been writing for myself for years. Then, every once in a while, a song comes out a little bit above the rest. “Getting Started” is one of them.
Throughout time, people have searched for meaning and purpose, no matter their age or walk in life. Those who know Christ or those who don’t. But God truly has a plan and purpose for each of us, whether you’re just starting out in life or coming to the end. We can get distracted, lose our way, or feel invisible and unnoticed, walk in shame, or anything else that holds us back from all that Jesus has for us.
For those who do not know Christ, when you surrender your life to Him, you are a new creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new. You have life for the first time indeed.
And for those who know Christ and have struggled and maybe feel like God can’t use you or doesn’t see you or you’ve gone too far, the Bible says His mercies are new EVERY morning, great is your faithfulness! He welcomes you and tells you He loves you over and over again. I’m so thankful for that. So don’t ever feel like a lost cause, you have a God who loves you passionately and wants to breathe new life into you no matter your age, I believe you’re just getting started!
