Jekalyn Carr returns to the top of the Billboard charts Reading the Gospel chart, as “My Portion” rises to No. 1 in the June 25 survey. The song increased 19% in streams during the week ending June 19, according to Luminate.
Carr wrote the song solo. His father, Allen Carr, produced it.
“‘My Part’ is so people understand that good news is their part,” Carr told Billboard. “I wanted people to understand that disappointment, illness, failure are not the part that was promised to them. »
Carr earns his sixth Gospel Airplay crowning and third in a row, following “Jehovah Jireh,” which led for two weeks last July, and “Changing Your Story,” which topped the count for one week in September 2020.
