Jekalyn Carr to co-host 37th Stellar Awards as ‘My Portion’ reaches No. 1

Although she wears many hats, powerhouse singer Jekalyn Carr continues her winning season as a recording artist. In July, Carr will co-host the 37th edition of Stellar Gospel Music Awards alongside the talented Kierra Sheard-Kelly. It’s a double first for Carr, who is the youngest artist to co-host the show for two consecutive years. This will also be the first year that two female artists will take on co-hosting duties.

On radio, Carr’s single “My Portion” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, making it his sixth No. 1 radio single and bringing his number of career number ones to 10.

“I’m excited that the radio is playing ‘My Portion,’ and I hope people are blessed by hearing it,” Carr says. “The song reminds us that our portion is always filled with good news. Although we may encounter difficulties, trials, sickness, and other challenges – the portion promised to us is victory, so we must keep the faith.

In April, Carr received huge media attention for her stunning look at the Grammy Awards. She was named one of the best dressed of the night by Variety, Deadline, Eonline, People, Essence and more.
