Big Daddy Weave bassist Jason (Jay) Weaver is back home this weekend after being hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) last week.
Jay’s family shared updates on the Big Daddy Weave social media accounts with the last post on Friday, August 6th titled “JAY IS HOME!!!!!” The post continued, “Thank you for all your prayers! God has been so gracious and kind these past few days.”
Jay was admitted to the ICU on August 4 due to complications from his dialysis treatments. Jay reportedly had issues with unstable blood pressure, severe pain, and a possible infection. Initially, it was feared that he would need to have a finger amputated, but in the latest update, he was sent home without further amputation. Fans may recall the #PrayForJay movement in 2016 after Jay required bilateral foot amputations due to infections.
“The Lord has heard all of your requests and exceeded them,” said Jay’s wife, Emily. “We still have a long way to go… We have follow-ups with doctors over the next two weeks. There may be changes in medical treatments. We are fully trusting His plan. Thank you, thank you, thank you again for your prayers and kind words.”
Jay is expected to take some time off from touring to focus on his health. Please join us in continuing to pray for Jay, his wife Emily, and their children Makenzie, Madison, and Nathan.
